ARIMORTIS is a project curated By Milovan Farronato and Roberto Cuoghi at Museo Del Novecento, Milan April/September 2013

The term that gives the exhibition its title - often abbreviated as "arimo" - is in fact used conventionally among children during the game, to ask for a suspension. In the windows of the Archives Room of the Museo del Novecento, the break allows "an intricate, unusual and suggestive cataloging of data: the works coexist with the objects of affection, the" memorabilia "with the strenuous - sometimes even dramatic - attempts to externalize the own intimate emotional responses ”.

"The works on display represent an intentionally instinctual world that forces the seals of the white notice boards in white corian and crystal designed by Italo Rota: beyond the finiteness and perfect functionality, a whirlwind of oversized and oversized" window decals "that turns the perspectives artistic evaluation for the duration of the exhibition ". This shows the paradoxical presumption of forcing excesses under the display case, of confining drive attitudes without an overview or planning.

Nell’ambito della collaborazione tra il Museo del
Novecento e DOCVA (Documentation Center for
Visual Arts), la Sala Archivi “Ettore e Claudia Gian
Ferrari” ospita la mostra Arimortis, in occasione della
quale Milovan Farronato per Viafarini ha invitato
l’artista Roberto Cuoghi a proporre una lettura
personale dei materiali dell’Archivio, a compimento
del suo impegno dal 2006 al 2012 presso il DOCVA.
Arimortis è la richiesta di una pausa. Ci si riallaccia
le stringhe allentate delle scarpe sospendendo
temporaneamente il gioco. Il termine che dà il titolo
alla mostra - spesso abbreviato in “arimo” - è infatti
usato convenzionalmente tra i bambini durante
il gioco, per chiederne una sospensione.
Nelle vetrine della Sala Archivi del Museo del
Novecento la pausa consente “un’intricata, inusuale
e suggestiva catalogazione di dati: le opere convivono
con gli oggetti d’affezione, i “memorabilia” con
i tentativi faticosi - talvolta persino drammatici
- di esternare le proprie intime risposte emotive”

..... ............. La Smisuratezza è un esercizio individuale totale, afinalistico
...............................................................................................................................e in conflitto con i valori del vivere comunitario che promuove
...............................................................................................................................le virtù della misura e del giusto mezzo. Se una pulsione che
...............................................................................................................................domina il campo della coscienza trova una forma determinata,
...............................................................................................................................si traduce in suggestione verso la collettività, suscitando
...............................................................................................................................opposizione o imitazione. Se l’imitazione supera per impulso la
...............................................................................................................................disposizione al contenimento, si verifica un fenomeno epidemico
...............................................................................................................................che costringe la collettività alla trasformazione del pensiero, del
...............................................................................................................................comportamento e dell’azione comune. Un ordine di Smisuratezza
...............................................................................................................................può estendersi fino a rendersi valore convenzionale, innescando
...............................................................................................................................il ciclo di effetti da ambiente sociale a persona fisica.”
